About Us
The European Information Service Centre Ltd (EISC) is small company limited by guarantee based in Southampton. The current company was formed in 2004 and follows from the Southern Area European Information Centre set up in 1987 to deliver support to businesses trying to develop their activities in Europe.
EISC is now part of the new pan European business support group called Enterprise Europe Network. With our partners at Business Support Kent CIC and London Technology Network we offer information, advice and support to businesses in the South East of England trying to access the European markets and needing to understand the rules, find partners, identify funding and win contracts.
EISC has been taking part in matchmaking events for over 15 years recruiting companies with the British Chambers of Commerce to go to events previously known as Partenariats. In these events between 500 and 1000 companies would meet twice a year in different countries to form partnerships, test their products in different markets, find distributors etc.
At the turn of 2002 the process in which these events were organised slightly changed, with the European Commission taking a step back from organising the events but still supporting very positively and financially events organised throughout Europe and strongly around the world. EISC Ltd has taken part in over 10 projects partly financed by the EU and helped to organise over 30 events bringing together many British companies and thousands of companies from all over Europe.
In 2008, a new page is turning with the Enterprise Europe Network, partly financed by the European Commission and putting a special emphasis on bringing companies together under the matchmaking event scheme. The events will be more frequent, covering many different areas and hopefully companies across all sectors will be able to benefit from our events.
